Our church library provides reference material, commentaries, and texts for biblical study. Its
primary mission is to support the teaching ministries of the congregation.
The collection includes material to encourage individual bible study, devotional practice, and information
for dealing with various life situations.
The collection includes a number of materials related to the history of the Stone-Campbell movement and the history
of the churches of Christ.
There is a children's library in the burgundy book cart. Children, with the permission
and supervision of their parents or other responsible adult, are very welcome to borrow these books.

Librarian is usually on duty before Bible class on Sunday morning and at other times by appointment.
In 2004 Houston Public Library celebrated 100 years and,
as part of the celebration, invited K Cummings Pipes to present a program on the history of the Central Church of Christ building
which became the F.B. Meyer Branch of the HPL. The link below will download the slides from her 23 October 2004 presentation.

The shelf list is formatted as an Excel spreadsheet. You may use the "find & select" buttons (the binoculars)
at the far right of the toolbar to search the shelf list for authors, titles, or subjects.
There are approximately 5,000 books in the collection but only about 20% have been cataloged. If you're looking
for something, ask the librarian to assist you.
We are still recovering from Hurricane Ike and from the librarian's limited time. Please forgive any inconvenience.
